Yesterday we celebrated the International Women’s day across the world. We have come a long way from the first women’s demonstration on 8th March 1917 in Russia when in the capital of the Russian Empire, Petrograd, women textile workers got together to ask voting rights. Many historians say that this was the beginning of the Russian Revolution. because only seven days later, the Emperor of Russia Nicholas II abdicated and the provisional Government granted women the right to vote. March 8 was declared a national holiday in Soviet Russia in 1917.

In some ways, we celebrated a history yesterday when we honored Women from all over the world. And Pornhub Insights show that there is another quite revolution happening in our bedtime habits.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Pornhub Insights shows that not only in day to day life, women are marching ahead in matters of sex. The Pornhub reports show that Women consume more porn on smartphone than men.

Interestingly, when Pornhub put out its annual review  earlier this year, the report showed that female visitors account for a little over a quarter of the entire traffic coming to the website. Yesterday’s report puts a totally different picture altogether.  Currently, about 72% of worldwide traffic to Pornhub comes from smartphones and tablets. But mobile use is actually much higher with women than men. As of February 2017, nearly 80% of female traffic comes from mobile, compared to about 69% for men. As the following chart illustrates, mobile growth has been similar for both genders, but women have remained around 10% higher than men since 2014.

Pornhub revealed that over 60 percent of its users prefer to stream raunchy content from their smartphones – and that’s without factoring in the additional 11 percent of users that opt to use their tablets for such activities.

Compared to smartphones, Windows users are by far the top visitors to Pornhub while a measly 14 percent of users who watch porn on their Macs, Windows users seem to have had their hands full in 2016, accounting for 80 percent of all porn content streamed on desktop.
