1. You are the Network Administrator at ABC Systems. Your company is facing the issue of degrading network performance. You need to analyze the network traffic and determine what causes the network performance to degrade.

1. switch to the Image_Win8_CL1 virtual machine.\par

7. switch to the Image_SVR1 virtual machine.\par
8. press the windows key.\par
9. type Wireshark.\par
10. press the enter key. the Wireshark network analyzer window is displayed.\par
11. Maximize the Wireshark network Analyzer window.\par
12. click the Interface List option in the caputer pane. the Wireshark: caputer interfaces dialog box is displayed.\par
13. select the check boxes under the Device column.\par
14. click the strat button.\par
15. switch to the Image_Win8_CL1 virtual machine.\par
16. Ensure that the command prompt window is displayed.\par
17. type ping 192.168.0.22 -t, and then press the enter key.\par
18. switch to the Image_SVR1 virtual machine. ICMP packets appear in the wirshark window.\par
19. select caputer--Stop from the menu ber of the wireshark window.\par
20. Double-click ICMP packets to analyze the details of the packet. the packet informationdialog box is displayed. Maximize the packet information dialog box.\par

2. You are the Network Administrator at CDE Systems, which develops mobile applications. The company has shifted to a new office building. The users report that they are facing connectivity issues to the main server inside the new building. As the Network Administrator, you are required to analyze the network connectivity issues.

To troubleshoot network connectivity issues, you need to perform the following tasks:
1. Use the network monitoring tool.
2. Identify the remote desktop connectivity issue.
3. Isolate the cause for network error.


Task 1 Using the network Monitoring Tool
1. Switch to the Image_Win8_CL1 virtual machine.
2. Press the Windows key.
3. Type command.
4. Right-click the command prompt tile, and then select the run as administrator: command prompt window is displayed.
5. Type ping 192.168.0.11, and then press the enter key.
6. Type ipconfig /all, and then press the enter key. The following details are displayed :
· IP Address: 172.16.1.12
· Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
7. Press the Windows key.
8. Type control panel.
9. Press the enter key. The control panel window is displayed.
10. Click the network and internet link. The network and internet link is displayed.
11. Click the network and Sharing center link in the right pane. The network and sharing center window is displayed.
12. Click the change adapter setting link in the left pane. He network connections window is displayed.
13. Right-click the local area connection icon, and then properties dialog box is displayed.
14. Select the Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/Ipv4) option under the this connection user the following items list.
15. Click the properties button. The internet protocol version 4 (TCP/Ipv4) Properties dialog box is displayed.
Task 2. Identifiying the Remote Desktop connectivity issue
1. Ensure that the Image_Win8_CL1
2. Press the windows key.
3. Type Remote Desktop connection.
4. Press the enter key. The romote desktop connection dialog box is displayed.
5. Type ping 172.16.0.11 in the computer text box.
6. Click the connect button.
7. Click the ok button.
8. Switch to the Administrator: command prompt window.
9. Type ping 172.16.0.11, and then press the enter key.
10. Switch to the Image_SVR1
11. Press the Windows key.
12. Type computer.
13. Right –click the computer tile, and then select the properties option. The system window is displayed.
14. Click the remote setting link in the left pane. The system properties dialog box is displayed.
15. Select the allow remote connection to this computer option. The remote desktop connection message box is displayed.
16. Click the ok button. The system properties dialog box is displayed.
17. Click the ok button. The system window is displayed.
18. Close the system window.
Task 3. Isolating the Cause for Network Error.
1. Switch to the Image_Win8_CL1
2. Press the windows key.
3. Type the command prompt.
4. Right-click the command prompt tile, and then select the run as administrator option.
5. Type ping 172.16.0.11, and then press the enter key.
6. Type ipconfig /all, and then press the enter key. Ensure that all the information ios correct.
7. Type ping 172.16.0.21, and then press the enter key.
8. Switch to the Image_SVR1
9. Press the windows key.
10. Right-click the command prompt tile, and then click the run as administrator: command prompt window is displayed.
11. Type ping 172.16.0.22, and then press the Enter key.
12. Type ping 172.16.0.21, and then press the Enter key.
13. Switch to the Image_Win8_CL2
14. Press the windows key.
15. Type services.msc, and then press the enter key.
a. DHCP client
b. DNS Client
c. Network connections

16. Clocse the services window.
